Do you sometimes hate being a fan of a popular team?

Although I am a loyal fan of Boston sports teams, bandwagon hopping never bothered me. What I do hate is expectations of the fans. For instance, I never thought the Patriots were better than the Jets at any point this season. In fact, in a rebuilding year, I thought the Patriots couldn't do any better. I didn't even expect them to be a playoff team when the season started. However, they finished as a flawed team at 14 - 2 and the expectation went from a winning record to a Super Bowl birth. Unrealistic. So, now Brady sucks and if the Pats couldn't win this year they'll never win. The real story is that Brady had a great year and should be MVP and the fans should of been enjoying the story all year. It was always about the Pats going as far as Brady can take them. Once the Jets stuffed the Pats receivers similar to Cleveland, the story was over. As a Pats fan my expectations were exceeded. How many teams can turnover players like the Pats did this year and finish 14 - 2? Not many. It was a great run and probably the best coaching job by Belichick. So, it's really about the unrealistic expectations fans carry for the team that bother me.
