What are your thoughts on the incident where the teacher named the cl bear Mohammed?

Do you think it was racist? Or would it have been more racist to have omitted any muslim name from the choices? I heard that the cl picked some names and then the children voted. Twenty out of 23 students voted for Mohammed. Also there were three muslim names chosen by the children to be voted on.
